The Foundation

A complete beginner's guide to meditation — starting from zero.

Meditation on Rocks

What This Is

Most meditation courses promise transformation. This one promises something smaller and more honest: that in six weeks, you'll have an actual meditation practice. Five minutes on day one. Around fifteen to twenty by the end. A sustainable daily sit that you'll still have a year from now.

That's the whole offer.

If you've tried meditation before and bounced off — because it felt boring, or self-helpy, or you weren't sure you were doing it right — this is the course I wish I'd had on my first day. It's the foundation. Nothing more, nothing less.

Is this you?

WHO IT'S FOR — a quick honesty check before you commit.

This course is for you if…

• You've heard meditation might help with stress, sleep, focus, or just feeling less reactive — and you want to find out for yourself.

• You've tried it before and given up. Probably more than once.

• You're skeptical of woo and want someone to explain what's actually happening in plain language.

• You can spare ten to twenty minutes a day for six weeks.

It's not for you if…

• You already have a settled daily practice. This is foundations.

• You want a quick fix. Meditation works, but slowly.

• You want to be told what to believe. I'm not going to tell you.

Either way…

You don't need to have it figured out. You just need to be curious enough to spend ten minutes finding out.

YOUR TEACHER

I'm not a monk.

I'm someone who tried to meditate and quit many times before anything stuck.

My wife Danielle and I started this journey together. We were both curious about something underneath the surface of ordinary life — what we now call intuition, what we then would have called something else going on. Meditation was where it began for both of us. It is the foundation that everything we've done since has been built on.

But it also did all the ordinary things along the way. It made me sleep better. It helped with anxiety. It made me less reactive. It quieted a head that had been loud for as long as I could remember. You do not need any interest in the deeper end of the pool for that to be true. The plain, secular benefits are real, and they are reason enough.

I really did try and fail at this many times before it took. Apps, books, podcasts — bits and pieces from a lot of different sources, all pieced together over time. A handful of starts and stops. What finally worked wasn't any of those — it was being met where I was and walked through it patiently, without being made to feel like I should already know how. I built this course because I wish someone had handed it to me at the beginning.

If you find, as Danielle and I did, that this practice eventually opens a door to something deeper, that is what our Embodied Intuitive Academy is for. But you do not need to go anywhere near it to get everything this course is for.
